Diane and Raymond Barry are the owners of Michigan Aerial Images.
Diane serves as navigator and photographer on photo missions. She has been an avid photographer for many years and since marrying her husband Raymond, she has developed a love for aviation and aerial photography. Diane has become proficient in the use of sectional charts and GPS navigation to assist the flight during photo assignments.
Raymond is an instrument rated pilot and photographer. He began his photographic training in a camera club that met after school in his junior high in 1969. There he learned the art of black and white film development and printing. In 1972 he learned to fly in a 1946 Cessna 140. Later, while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps (Infantry), he bought his first 35 mm camera and pursued his interest in photography by photographing his fellow marines during training exercises in and around Camp Pendleton. It was only a short time later that he began to combine his interest in photography with aviation and thus the idea for Michigan Aerial Images was born. He is also a Member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
Michigan Aerial Images is located in Milford, Michigan. Photo assignments are flown out of Oakland International Airport, locally known as Pontiac Airport (KPTK), and is located 30 miles northwest of downtown Detroit. Photo assignments to northern Ohio and Indiana are within Michigan Aerial Images' coverage area.
